Los menores, foco de atención en Internet
Interesante y necesario debate el que se ha planteado en el último Thursday, un foro dirigido por Idefonso Mayorgas en el que se abordan mes a mes diferentes aspectos sobre Internet y las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC). En este caso, los menores en la Sociedad de la Información ha sido el asunto elegido para celebrar la que es la 89 edición de un evento que, sin duda, se ha convertido en referente en la Red.
En esta ocasión, los ponentes han intentado dar alguna respuesta a un problema complejo, pero que requiere, al menos, un debate en la sociedad. Ya ayer miércoles se conocía la decisión de la Comisión Europea de estudiar la posibilidad de extender las leyes de protección de datos a las redes sociales como MySpace, Facebook o Tuenti. La cuestión de la intimidad y de la privacidad es esencial, y lo es más aún cuando hablamos de los menores y cuando existen estadísticas alarmantes que indican que el 43,6% de los menores entre 13 y 17 han recibido alguna vez por Internet una proposición sexual, según se ha destacado durante las jornadas "Influencias de las nuevas tecnologías en la familia", organizadas por el Consejo Audiovisual de Navarra y el Departamento de Asuntos Sociales, Familias, Juventud y Deporte.
Los tres expertos que han intervenido en el Thursday han puesto el acento en la importancia de concienciar sobre los riesgos del mal uso por parte de los menores de las TICs y más concretamente de Internet. Desde el Gobierno español ya se están tomando algunas medidas. Así lo ha puesto de relieve Gonzalo Díe, director de Planificación y Relaciones Externas de la entidad pública Red.es, dependiente del Ministerio de Industria. Ha explicado el proyecto chaval.es, una web dedicada a los niños y adolescentes y ha resaltado el esfuerzo de la Administración en hacer de Internet un espacio seguro y beneficioso.
Más en el campo del derecho, Andy Ramos, abogado y especialista en Propiedad Intelectual, ha focalizado su intervención en subrayar lo necesario que es en estos momentos abrir un debate social en torno al uso que hacen los menores de las redes sociales. Y ha resaltado con claridad, y creemos que con razón, que los usuarios deben ser responsables con su privacidad y con la publicación de contenidos generados por ellos mismos. Y ha enfatizado que las instituciones tienen que adaptar la legislación para proteger a los menores en Internet, sobre todo, de la presencia de determinadas webs como aquellas que incitan a la bulimia y a la anorexia.
Finalmente, María José Mayorgas, psicóloga, ha abundado en la relevancia de concienciar sobre la adición que pueden conllevar las TICs, algo que, a su juicio, requiere prevención, y especialmente en edades tempranas. Algo que tiene que ir acompañado de una buena formación hacia los padres, que deben conocer en todo momento qué hacen sus hijos en Internet.
Enhorabuena, Ilde, una vez más, por poner encima de la mesa algunos de los aspectos que más nos preocupan !!
